Virtual Sessions

  • I’m grateful we have this option. For many people I’ve worked with, the biggest obstacle to therapy isn’t just the session itself—it’s everything it takes to get there. Caregiving responsibilities, inflexible work schedules, and the mental load of carving out an hour can make it feel like a luxury. For others, chronic pain, recent surgery, or being immunocompromised add even more challenges.

Teletherapy makes support more accessible, so you can get the care you need in a way that fits your life.

  • Yes - I use Doxy.me and TherapyPortal.com to meet for video sessions. Both platforms are HIPAA-compliant and have built-in privacy and security safeguards to protect your personal information.

  • To make the most of our time together, please set yourself up in a private, comfortable space where you can be free from distractions for the full 50 minutes. It’s helpful to have water, paper and a pen, and perhaps some tissues nearby. If you’re using a phone, kindly switch on Do Not Disturb or Focus mode to minimize interruptions from incoming texts or calls. Before we begin, please take a moment to confirm that your video and microphone are working so we can start smoothly.

In-Person Sessions

  • Archie is a mini aussiedoodle who loves to bring his friendly and gentle presence into sessions. If having a dog in the space is uncomfortable for you, just let me know and I’ll be happy to accommodate.

  • My office is located on Delaware Avenue in the Elmwood Village, with a bus stop right out front and parking available. Before each session, you'll receive a QR key to enter the building. Once inside, you’re welcome to relax in the lobby until I come to meet you and bring you to my private first-floor office.

Water, tissues, fidgets, throw blankets, and pillows are available, and you’re always welcome to bring your own beverage or snack.

I don’t have a couch (by choice!), but there are a few different chairs to choose from—and if you’d rather sit on the floor, that’s always an option too.

The office is filled with natural light from a large window, complemented by several adjustable accent lamps to suit any sensory preferences. I also run an air purifier, which provides light white noise to create a calming atmosphere.

  • My office has moderate accessibility. It’s located on the first floor with no stairs required to enter, and there is a lobby with seating available. However, the entrance requires using a QR key, and doorways may not be wide enough for all mobility devices. If you have specific accessibility needs, please reach out so we can discuss how to best accommodate you.

There is a gender-neutral restroom in the building available for your convenience.

Starting Therapy

  • You’ve already started by being here! Next, reach out by email, text, or voicemail with your name and contact info. We’ll schedule a quick call to answer any questions and see if working together makes sense. If it’s not the right fit, I’ll do my best to refer you to someone who might be.

  • Before we meet you’ll complete some paperwork in your TherapyNotes portal account to help organize your thoughts and give me a bit about your background. In our first session we’ll explore your story, needs, and goals and start mapping out our work together.

  • Sessions are 45-50 minutes long. Since therapy works best with consistency—much like learning a new skill or strengthening a muscle—we’ll typically meet every other week. That said, frequency and duration vary based on individual needs, and we’ll adjust as we go.

  • Sessions are scheduled for weekdays between 9a and 2p depending on availability.

I will check messages in the morning and make efforts to respond in a timely fashion, prioritizing current clients and urgent needs.

  • I don’t schedule sessions for evenings or weekends.
